As humanity expands its presence beyond Earth, the need for practical legal and governance frameworks is becoming increasingly urgent. Addressing this new frontier requires thoughtful consideration of complex, interconnected issues, including intellectual property, ethics, lunar resource rights, space economics, planetary protection, and governance beyond Earth.

Led by Michelle Hanlon, this interdisciplinary workshop will explore the evolving challenges of space exploration and how Kentucky's universities, educators, students, businesses, and policymakers can help position the Commonwealth as a leader in the rapidly growing global space law, policy, and governance sector.
