Space Law and Governance

Kentucky Space Futures is a new project focused around space law and governance. As humanity expands its presence beyond Earth, our future in space will be shaped not only by science and technological capability, but also by law, ethical frameworks, responsible governance, and inclusive dialogue.

This project aims to raise awareness, spark interest, and catalyze new programs and collaborations across Kentucky in this critical and emerging field. One of the initiative’s leads is Ken Human, who previously served as Lead Counsel at NASA.

Initial activities include a dedicated section on the Kentucky Space Futures website to share relevant resources and content, interdisciplinary discussions involving students and professionals and a workshop planned for September of this year.
